- The Ethereal -

The Ethereal brings very nihilistic and slow, soulcrushing funeral doom by combining ultra slow and heavy rhythms with slow, repetitive and empty guitar leads and very slow drum-tracks. These elements sometimes give 'The Ethereal' a drone/ambient feel, due to the immense, monolithic slowness. Once in a while an organ and piano can be heard in the tracks. This project started as a one-man band, where i did the session-vocals. The other member was an 'ethereal', non-existant figure, although 'The Ethereal' was promoted as a band, it's just another solo-project of me...

The only release thus far, 'From Funeral Skies' caught the attention of brand-new sublabel of Rage Of Achilles, 'Totentroll', early 2004, but the label had to close and the re-release of this album didn't make it. Early 2005, however, another sublabel was interested in The Ethereal, this time it was a funeral doom-only label, 'Marche Funebre Productions', founded by Andrew of 'Stygian Crypt'.
They also offered a re-release, which saw the light of day mid-october 2005...

There are no real plans yet for a new album for 'The Ethereal', yet i have been working on some new ideas...
